You’ve got questions?

What is your style of photography?

My style is heavily documentary-based. This means at a wedding I capture a lot of candid and real moments, not just posed portraits (although I obviously do that as well).

With every collection or package I photograph:
Getting ready images of the bride and groom
The Ceremony
Family & friend group pictures (I suggest these are kept to a minimum to ensure we have enough time for the creative portraits)
Creative portraits of you as a couple
The Reception

What if we’re uncomfortable in front of the camera and don’t know how to pose?

My style is natural, real, and unique to you. I don’t ask you to pose like a statue and say ‘Cheese”.

I do get you to move, laugh, have fun, and forget that I am there.

I don’t produce ‘sausage factory’ images that look the same from every wedding. I work with who you are, what makes you comfortable and what is most flattering.

I do not do black-and-white images with selective objects in colour.

Sorry, not sorry

Do you work with another photographer?

Collection 1 includes a second photographer whose work matches and compliments mine.

Do you (and your second photographer) require food and a place to sit during the reception?

As we are on our feet for at least 8 hours we appreciate your understanding that even superheroes need a quick break.

I highly suggest seating us in the reception hall as that way we don’t miss any important moments or speeches.

When would you need overnight accommodation and do you charge a travel fee?

While I don’t charge a travel fee I (and my second photographer if there is one) do require accommodation for any wedding that is more than 30km from Linden, Randburg. We are happy to share a single room with twin beds.

How far do you travel to do weddings?

My photography has taken me everywhere from Timbuktu (yes, really) to the UK to South America so I love destination weddings.

The flight and accommodation costs would be covered by you.

How long does editing and printing of the album usually take?

As I am usually crazy about the images from my weddings I deliver 10 -15 ‘sneak peek’ images within 7 working days.

Because I spend time editing each image individually (and my smallest collection is 300 images) I take +/- 6 weeks for image delivery and album design.

Once you have the first design you can make any changes you like (the layout of 4 of the pages are free, but any changes after that will be charged for). As I design my albums as a story one change has a knock-on effect to the overall album design.

Once you have approved the final album design it takes approximately 4 weeks to be printed. This timeline is an estimate as it is the timeline given by my album printer, not me.

What time do you suggest I have my ceremony to ensure the best images?

I love what is called ‘Golden Hour’, the last hour of light in the day. That light is magical, and I am here for magic so I suggest trying to end the group shots 10-15 mins before that hour.

In Summer ‘Golden Hour’ in Gauteng is usually from about 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM.

In Winter it is usually 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM.

If you have a morning wedding I suggest taking the images as late as we can, after the reception is a good time as the light has usually faded a bit and it is more flattering and makes for better images.

However, if that isn’t possible I am experienced enough to make whatever light we have work.

I also help you put together a timeline of the day to ensure that we have the best time to take the creative portraits.
